Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician

As a member of Vancouver Hyperbarics, the principal responsibilities of the Hyperbaric Technician include:
- Safely and effectively operating of the hyperbaric chamber and related support systems as prescribed by the hyperbaric physician.
- Monitoring the patient during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining the equipment according to infection control standards.
- Preparing patients for treatment by providing explanation of the purpose and procedure of treatment as well as education regarding pre-, post-, and intra treatment information/instructions.
- Keeping complete, and accurate patient records using electronic medical record system.
- Discussing patient treatment with hyperbaric physician and adjusting treatment, as necessary.
- Reporting any adverse reactions to hyperbaric physician.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- The training and competencies necessary to become a hyperbaric technician can be achieved through on the job training.
- Ability to perform without direct supervision.
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- Post hire completion (within 2 years) of an approved Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course.
- Two (2) or more years experience in healthcare preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification - to be maintained throughout the duration of employment in this position.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
