In addition, the Region recognizes the value of having flexible work arrangements to support better work-life balance for our employees. **Temporary Duration**: Approximate Duration: 0 to 6 months. **JOB SUMMARY**: Maintain the building and grounds surrounding the assigned Regional location through landscaping, housekeeping, and snow and ice removal. Perform minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related maintenance activities. Perform maintenance and repair of equipment. Operate and maintain the heating/cooling system manually or by computer. **QUALIFICATIONS**: **EDUCATION**: - Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Additional courses in electrical, plumbing, H.V.A.C., carpentry and other technical areas are an asset. - Completion of College Program - Building Environmental System (BES) an asset - The following training courses, licenses and certifications are preferred and/or must be completed upon hire (1st year); - Bio hazardous Spill Response training - W.H.M.I.S. training. - Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid - Forklift Operating training - Lockout/tag out training - Working at heights training **KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE**: - Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in a similar role in Facilities Maintenance. - Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas fired boilers, chillers and compressors **SKILLS**: - Must possess working knowledge of computer software programs including; Microsoft Outlook, myFinance, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS). - Must be able to work without direct supervision. - Excellent communication and customer service skills **SPECIAL CONDITIONS**: - In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires to maintain a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate. - Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted class "G" license for the class of the vehicle operated. **Closing Statement**: Uncover the wonder of the Niagara Region and join a team dedicated to meeting tomorrow’s challenges TODAY - Phone: 905-980-6000 ext. 3252 or 1-800-263-7215 - Bell Relay: 1-800-855-0511 - In-person: Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold, ON L2V 4T7 - Human Resources Department
