**Job Summary**:
**Start Date: ASAP**

**Status: Casual**

**Schedule: Open availability - As scheduled**

**Wage: $16.00/hr base**

**Location: Central Laundry, 296 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth, B2Y 3Z9, Halifax, NS**

**Important Information**:
- Training available
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Would be required to handle soiled hospital linens, bodily fluids etc.

**Job Summary**:
Perform laundry services including cleaning and distributing linens to clients.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Properly sort, wash and dry linens following the approved laundry procedures.
- Fold, count and stack linens following approved laundry procedures.
- Collect soiled linens along with redistributing clean linens.
- Transport supplies to include clean and soiled linen to the appropriate storage and collection areas.
- Routinely inspect linens for wear and tear, identifying worn and torn linens and following Standard Operating Procedure for damaged linens.
- Maintain the commercial and residential laundry rooms in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition.

- Experience in housekeeping and/or laundry or equivalent combination of training and experience is an asset.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to operate laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, linen press and clothing labeler.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Physically able to carry out duties of the position.
