We are looking for Project Managers to support the Directorate of Land Requirements 4 (DLR 4) projects in Gatineau, Canada.
DLR 4 is responsible for providing operational direction and management advice for the acquisition of Land Command Support System (LCSS), Electronic Warfare (EW), Intelligence and Simulation systems. In this role you will provide support for submission writing including project briefs, business case analyses and other departmental documentation.
**Tasks and Activities**:
The scope of work will include:
- Contributing to the drafting of strategic documents, reports and briefings.
- Meeting with stakeholders and giving briefings on progress and concerns of the project.
- Coordinating and preparing documentation in response to scheduled and unscheduled reports, returns and observations to update management on project progress.
- Developing, planning, analyzing, evaluating and prioritizing deliverables and requirements.
- Determining and obtaining budgetary requirements, composition, roles, responsibilities, objectives and terms of reference for the team.
- Planning, directing and controlling the activities of a project team within scheduled time and cost parameters.
- Monitoring the design, implementation and operations start-up of the project against established goals, objectives and milestones.
- Working with a variety of project management tools such as MS Project and Visio.
- Formulating and managing project plans by defining deliverables, identifying key milestones, reviewing project progress and engaging in ongoing risk management.
- Ensuring management staff is provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates.
- Contributing to the organization’s strategic and business planning initiatives.
- Contributing to development of organizational vision and mission.
- Overseeing projects through all stages of project acquisition process including identification, options analysis, definition, implementation and close out.
- Taking minutes and notes for briefings, as directed by the Technical Authority (TA), including, but not limited to, the Senior Review Board, Army Outlook, Army Capability Development Board and internal briefings to project management staff.
- Participating in project-related research and development initiatives including, but not limited to, operational research, technology demonstrations programmes, advanced research programs, and technology advisory groups.
**Skills and Experience**:
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- An Undergraduate degree from a recognized Canadian university, or diploma from a recognized Canadian college, or the equivalent as established by a recognized Canadian academic credentials assessment service, if obtained outside Canada.
- A minimum of 2 years’ combined experience at a supervisory level working in a project environment related to concept development, equipment requirements, organizational structure and design.
- Previously co-authored in the development of a minimum of one statement of requirement (SOR) within the last 10 years addressing one of the following:
- Concept development
- Equipment requirements
- Organizational structure and design.
- A strong working knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
