**summary of position**

We are looking for someone interested in working as a Special Education Assistant (SEA) with a teens who has special education needs. The SEA will support the student to engage with lessons and activities that have been pre-planned for the class, will assist the student with completing assignments, help the student with focus, attention and social skills and will work as part of a team. Support from a home learning support teacher, parents, and the special education teacher will be provided. The teen has a range of physical, health, behavioural, and learning needs.

Remuneration $23-28/ hour, dependent on qualifications, experience, and credentials.

Qualifications, experience, credentials and/or skills and abilities

Experience and/or SEA certification is an asset but those with a strong interest, related experience or training and a willingness to learn will also be considered. All SEA's require a current Criminal Record clearance and Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR and AED. Christian individuals who have an empathetic nature, experience working with school-aged children, some special education background, and a willingness to be flexible.
