**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or delegate, the Coordinator, Therapy Services is responsible for the efficient organization and management of Physiotherapy and Occupation Therapy services; for providing treatment as necessary; and for the direction of department staff.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Graduate of an accredited, Canadian Physiotherapy Program;
Current Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) registration;
Preferably have completed a Canadian Hospital Administration (CHA) Department Management or equivalent program;
Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical experience and at least one (1) year previous supervisory experience in a unionized setting
OR
Graduate of an accredited, Occupational Therapy Program;
Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC);
Preferably have completed a Canadian Hospital Administration (CHA) Department Management or equivalent program;
Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical experience and at least one (1) year previous supervisory experience in a unionized setting
**Skills And Abilities**:
- Demonstrates sound professional/managerial judgment and initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good health and physical ability to perform the duties.
