**CHILD CARE CENTRE COOK**
YWCA Cambridge is looking to fill the position of Child Care Centre Cook. This is a permanent part-time position (20 hours per week).
**Responsibilities**:
1. Provide nutritious meals and snacks for the children in the child care centre.
2. Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen and food storage area.
3. Keep current on pertinent trends in food preparation and menu planning for Early Childhood Education programs.
4. Develop positive supportive communications and relationships with parents, the community and other YWCA Staff members.
**Requirements**:
1. A diploma in Food Services from a recognized college preferred; or related experience in lieu.
2. Current Food Safety Training Program Certificate.
3. Current Standard First Aid and Infant and Child CPR.
4. Some experience cooking for a group and preferably in a controlled kitchen environment.
5. A high level of skill in time management, organization and creative thinking.
6. An independent worker.
7. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
8. Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: From $19.76 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
COVID-19 considerations:
Must have 2 doses of the COVID vaccine.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cambridge, ON N3C 4K2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
