Maintenance Technician

Job description
**Description**:Maintenance team members play a key role in ensuring our buildings show pride of ownership and respect for our residents, by making sure they are kept in good repair, and that maintenance issues are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner. This is a full time, permanent position which the option to live either on or offsite.
**Job Location**: London, Ontario
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring the safety of common areas, and complying with city by-law and fire code requirements
- troubleshoot and prioritize work orders and handle emergency situations
- Drywall repairs, painting prep and painting
- Minor electrical repairs and appliance repairs
- Minor plumbing repairs, including boiler checks and turn on heat during the winter season and off during summer season
- Dealing with subcontractors and other vendors
- Maintain company vehicle
- Maintain inventory and a clean working area/supply room
- Assisting with and or performing suite renovations and other upgrades (second turns)
- Moving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies, including clearing of vacant units
- Maintain clean vacant lots, removal of garbage and debris from building and grounds
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Snow removal and ice control from all entrances/exits and walkways as required
- Delivery of notices to building residents and posting of notices in common areas
- Completion of suite inspections and fire life safety equipment’s as per fire code
- Assisting with the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs
- Other related duties as assigned by the Senior Property Manager or Maintenance Manager
**Qualifications**:
- Able to work independently, is a self-starter and takes pride in a job well done
- Three years' previous experience in building maintenance
- Proven ability to work productively and safely while under pressure
- Good customer service skills and pleasant demeanor
- An ability to speak and write English fluently
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to use phone app for managing the maintenance work orders
- Able to provide a criminal record check free of relevant convictions
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
- Flexible schedule, able to work on call and weekends as needed
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
