**Employment Services Coordinator**

**About the Role**:
The Employment Services of John Howard Society is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. Its goal is to provide support to individuals to obtain sustainable employment through a full suite of services that include Information/Resource, Service User Service Planning and Coordination, Job Search, Job Placement and Matching and Job Retention.

Reporting to the Program Director, this position is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and coordination of Employment Services programs to ensure effective and efficient intake, assessment, exit and follow-up for participants while adhering to the guidelines, policies, and mission of the John Howard Society. The Employment Services Coordinator will provide leadership, quality assurance and coordination of programs and services, and is committed to creating an accessible and supportive environment for staff and program participants that recognizes diversity and cultural competence as integral components of program design and delivery.

The Employment Services Coordinator will participate and contribute as a member of the leadership team within the Employment and Training services division and actively engage, support and contribute to the day-to-day operations of all employment and training programs.

**Job Functions**:
Program Management
- Assist program director to recruit and interview program staff
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of program staff including training, mentoring, coaching, motivating, and conducting performance appraisals
- Maintain staff records regarding annual performance indicators
- Contribute perspectives to budgets/spending/revenue
- To ensure that the appropriate information is collected for use in the performance management of Employment services.
- Completion of accurate statistics and reports to be forwarded to Director
- Ongoing development of new systems and record keeping methods to ensure funding requirements are met and all documentation is complete, accurate and accountable
- Ensure the provisions of services are consistent with the Employment Ontario Employment Services Guidelines by coordinating the intake, assessment, counselling, exit, referral and follow up processes.
- Responsible for the equitable distribution of workloads amongst the teams to ensure deliverables are met
- Review statistical data on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to ensure program deliverables are being maintained and outcomes are on target reporting any variances to the Director.
- Support team to recruit service users
- Ensure quality control measures are adhered to regarding employer financial incentives and service user training support.
- Keep up to date on front line computer software such as ES Cases/CAMS/Office 365/Zoom
- Oversee teams to ensure outcomes and targets are met as developed by the agency and funders
- Work with staff to develop and deliver a team-based marketing/outreach plan to promote EO programs and services that directly responds to target populations inclusive of job seekers with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Support program director in developing funding and program proposals
- Orientation and supervision of student/volunteer placements
- Liaises with LBS and other JHS programs to ensure coordination between programs and effective utilization of available resources.
- Plan and facilitate team meetings
- Meets all required deadlines.
- Other related duties that may be assigned

Community, Statistical Administration
- Attend and contribute to community meetings and events that help promote Employment Services
- Presentations to community groups, adults, youth, and other community stakeholders
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships and opportunities that contribute to service user engagement within the greater community
- Develop and foster relationships with a diverse range of community organizations, ethno cultural groups, and businesses
- Collaborate with in-house JHS programs that service adults and youth with complex employment barriers, such as OW, ODSP, schools, CAS, the courts, DRPS, probation etc. for the purposes of referral and recruitment.
- Support the team to establish relationships with employers or sector associations in Durham Region to determine job opportunities and advocate for participant job placement.
- Make referrals to community agencies as deemed appropriate
- Participate in designated committee meetings as required
- Attend workshops, meetings and seminars as requested
- Representing the agency in the community when required
