Service Writer

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their marine/powersports service needs.
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately to relay to the service team.
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended services and repairs, utilizing mechanical knowledge to enhance customer understanding.
- Handle cash transactions efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Upsell additional services or products based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Maintain organized records of customer interactions, service orders, and invoices for future reference.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in a marine repair environment is preferred, particularly in a dealership setting.
- Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is essential; experience as a mechanic is a plus.
- Proven sales skills with an ability to upsell services effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
