Chief Mate

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Chief Mate to help us deliver tour cruises on the North Saskatchewan River.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Act as master on the Edmonton Queen using your Chief Mate, Near Coastal or greater CoC.
- Maintain records and log books of ship operations.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and treat all members of staff with respect.
- You must be a team player.
- Report hazards, damage or potential operational issues to management.
- Support loading and unloading of supplies as needed.
- Follow safety procedures at all times, run emergency drills, and support crew during any incidents.
- Be the face of the company and provide friendly and professional assistance to passengers during boarding, disembarking, and while underway.

**Qualifications**:

- Chief Mate, Near Coastal ticket or greater.
- You must has a valid CoC from Transport Canada.
- You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Applicants without their PR will automatically be denied.
- You must have experience operating a sternwheel vessel (paddlewheel propulsion).
- You must have experience navigating shallow river systems.
- Proficient in English.
