Reporting to the Senior Manager Health & Safety, the Coordinator will primarily be responsible for providing support to the H&S team and the company’s management in support of the Woodbine’s Health & Safety program.
**Responsibilities and Duties
- Review and update Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
- Support the training and H&S orientation of new employees
- Working alongside the Sr. Manager counsel, educate and provide information to all departments on all aspects of the H&S program and provide support in H&S record keeping
- Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of safety policies and programs
- Completes regular site inspections and audits assigned as per internal protocol and established schedules
- Participates in all site-specific incident and accident investigations from fact finding to reporting and all follow-up as necessary to remedy risk
- Fully participates and coordinates in the JHSC and support the JHSC initiatives including following up on action items as recommended by the committee
- Actively conducts and supports departmental safety talks
- Provides administrative support to all training and development initiatives as requested by the Sr. Manager
- Reviews and updates H&S communication boards
**Qualifications**
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
- Works well independently and knows when to escalate or seek out guidance from the Sr. Manager
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- A minimum of one year experience working in any capacity where the primary job responsibilities related to H&S
