**Paris & Woodstock Ontario Locations - *This is a Fully Onsite Role**

**What you will do**:

- Provide advisory and administrative support to the Senior Management Team (SMT) for all HSW related matters and business initiatives.
- Serve as the business unit liaison with external agencies including the Ministry of Labour, the WSIB, local Police, Fire and By-Law Enforcement Departments.
- Coordinate business unit HSW activities in alignment with TC Corporate Retail Services & Print Sector objectives.
- Review, revise and maintain the business unit Health, Safety and Wellness Management System including annual review and document control in alignment with the TC Corporate HSMS and at minimum comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations of Ontario.
- Serve as SME on EHS and provide support to all levels of the workplace parties on EHS topics and continuous improvement.
- In conjunction with the supervisory staff, coordinate and document accident/incident investigations in a timely manner and report same to government agencies, TC’s Corporate stakeholders, and the SMT as required.
- Document, manage, and report monthly metrics (KPIs) to TC Corporate stakeholders.
- Hours worked, incidents, and TIR.
- Training initiatives.
- Risk assessments.
- Corrective actions.
- Environmental compliance.
- Manage occupational and non-occupational Return-to-Work program and WSIB claims.
- Coordinate, prepare and deliver HSW training to support compliance and programs.
- Plan, develop and implement all HSW training and communications to, at minimum, meet compliance and achieve HSW objectives, annual HSW training schedules (such as compliance training, program training and regular safety talks) and new hire/onboarding general awareness & job specific HSW training.
- Support and coordinate the activities of the Joint Health & Safety Committee, including meetings and inspections.
- Build trust and strong relationships with employees by spending time on the production floor. Duties include:

- Workplace inspections.
- Risk assessments, and JHAs.
- Program audits, such as, contractor compliance audits, focused safety audits, environmental compliance, etc.
- Manage environmental requirements and waste management, using RPRA platform. Ensure EHS compliance with all MECP requirements. Manage waste manifests and permits.
- Perform other duties and projects as directed by the General Manager.
- Work as part of a team, follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts.
- Fully understand and adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Quality, Security and Company policies and procedures.
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Act and all other applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations.
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

**What we are looking for from you**:

- 5-7 years of relevant experience in a Health, Safety & Wellness Advisory role;
- Experience with WSIB Safety Excellence Program elements and requirements;
- College or University diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline;
- CRSP (Certified Registered Safety Professional) or CEP (Certified Environmental Professional) designation an asset;
- Comprehensive knowledge of Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation combined with training in hazard recognition, risk assessment and control;
- Effective communication skills both oral and written;
- Effective organization and presentation skills and attention to detail;
- Proactive and ability to handle multiple competing priorities;
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
