**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to and directed by the Assistant Director, Residence Life Services, the incumbent is responsible for the daily administration of the Residence Life Team and front-line support for the 261 Stormont Office. Duties include reception and Liaison, meeting logistics, hiring and staff administration, financial administration, and performing other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- The position requires the incumbent to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment where most of the staff are part time and turn over occurs on a regular basis.
- The position requires proven office administrative and organizational skills, with financial responsibility to be effective in the daily administration of the Residence Life office and with the work related to the reporting of departmental leave.
- The incumbent must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to identify and collate information with statistical data reports, good judgement, tact and diplomacy, the ability to work independently and to deal effectively with a variety of complex duties and people in an environment where interruptions are the norm. Adherence to detail and accuracy are essential as is sensitivity and understanding of peoples’ needs and feelings.
- The incumbent must be competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Access and on-line main frame data bases that are used to manage information for the Residence students. It is essential that the incumbent remain current on developments and changes in the areas of office administration and related computer technology.
- Due to the nature of the position, a sensitivity to gender, culture and diversity, including an understanding of students, parents, summer clients, university staff is essential as well as interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy is required to effectively facilitate stressful situations in an effective and calm manner.
- In this position, the incumbent will be required to work the Departmental hours of 8:30 am-4:30 pm, with limited work from home opportunities. This position may be required to work evenings or weekends (such as Move-in weekend) for special events or for emergencies.

**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- Completion of two years administrative training beyond secondary school.
- Minimum four years of related, progressively more responsible work experience, some of which should be with administrative, financial and payroll responsibility. At least one of the years should be in a full-time administrative work position within the student residence area or community living.
