Assistant General Manager I

General Responsibilities:
The Airport Assistant General Manager directs the process and activities of multiple Operations Managers and assists the General Manager in overseeing an airport location within the Operations Division to ensure maximum performance through superior operational leadership, strong communication and maximum efficiency.
The Airport Assistant General Manager is primarily responsible in assisting the Airport General Manager in the successful delivery and oversight of the Hertz product to internal and external customers. This position helps to provide overall leadership to exempt and non-exempt employees with responsibility for overall operating performance, customer satisfaction, positive employee culture, safety, service, budgets, and vendor relations. The Airport Assistant General Manager may lead a brand strategy at a particular location, or lead all functions and all brands, depending on the size of the location.
The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the Airport Assistant General Manager are:
- Assists the Airport General Manager for the delivery of profit for the airport location.
- Continuously enhance the geography’s capabilities by implementing and driving innovative and creative commercial methods and processes to meet and exceed customer expectations, and ensure alignment of the sales force with those sales methods and processes
- Pro-actively drive the sales process that leads to the creation of a dynamic, customer-focused zone commercial organization focused on selling value-added solutions (VAS)
- Ensures achievement of profitability while protecting the value offering
- Actively fosters a culture that provides the “Best in Class” Customer Service
- Constantly champions productivity improvements via employee involvement and accountability
- Maximizes Cash Management through:
- Fleet - Develops and executes strategies to drive efficiency in all operational fleet processes
- Non-Fleet - Partners with Finance COE to reduce non fleet receivables
- Responsible for building, managing and developing talent effectively within the Organization in order to foster a high performing culture and holds all location management accountable for the effective management of their teams
- Actively engages in effective communication plans focused on building employee engagement in order to achieve business results
- Assists the General Manager in the development and execution of tactical plans aligned with the company strategy and location goals
- Creates a culture of partnership and open mindedness at all levels through effective collaboration across the organization
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Schedules and supervises the management team as well as the non-exempt frontline employees at the site - a responsibility that may be delegated, but remains the ultimate responsibility of the Assistant General Manager
- Manages the airport and assigned locations/geographic areas when the General Manager is not present

The Airport Assistant General Manager is a critical position in the success of the Company and takes on responsibility of leading 4-15 Managers within an airport location and/or geographic area in revenue acceleration, customer growth and market penetration.. The Airport Assistant General Manager is accountable for facets of the business to include expense control, satisfaction and utilization, and ultimately assists the Airport General Manager in his/her duties. Essential Requirements:
**Knowledge, Skills, & Experience**
**Educational Background**:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent), highly preferred
**Professional Experience**:
- 3 + Years previous management experience in a fast-paced environment
- 1-3 Years prior experience as a Manager
- Experience in car rental, hospitality, or tourism a plus
- Result orientation with demonstrated history of success
- Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate teams as well as identify and grow talent
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Senior leaders
