Job Details Position: Manager I - Employment Retention Specialist (ERS) Team Location: Calgary or Edmonton Type: Full Time, Contract – 6 months Starting Salary: $70,000 Closing Date: November 14, 2025 What will you do? Reporting to the Manager III, the Manager I handles day‑to‑day direction of Direct Services staff, assists with planning, coordination, and supports Prospect’s programming and resources. Responsibilities include training new staff, scheduling, mentorship, and collaboration on more complex HR or programming issues. The Manager I administers the program, sets goals, and delivers initiatives to maximize outcome achievement. Program Oversight Leads a small program or oversees a defined functional area. Manages daily delivery of program activities, ensuring alignment with contracts and Prospect’s mission. Supports development of work plans, monitors progress, and adjusts operations. Monitors day‑to‑day activities to identify service gaps or workflow challenges and escalates complex matters. Maintains records and reporting in compliance with confidentiality and privacy legislation. Contributes to funding reports, proposals, or functional documentation. Keeps current with labour market trends, best practices, and relevant tools. Leadership & Team Supervision Provides direct supervision to a small team, offering coaching, guidance, and mentorship. Leads team meetings, provides consultation, and fosters staff development. Participates in recruitment, onboarding, and performance review processes. Addresses minor performance concerns and escalates complex issues. Models inclusive leadership behaviors aligned with Prospect’s values. Financial & Operational Administration Approves routine program or function‑related expenses within delegated authority. Tracks expenditures and raises concerns about budget variances. Supports payroll administration, including attendance and PTO tracking. Contributes to internal and external reporting requirements. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation Acts as a secondary contact for funders or stakeholders. Supports maintaining community or employer relationships and represents the program at events. Assists in developing employer or functional partnerships. Qualifications Post‑secondary education in Social Sciences, Human Services, Business, or related field. 3–5 years of related professional experience. Some leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Proficiency with standard business software (MS Office Suite). Experience with data management and reporting using CRM or database platforms. Foundational understanding of program delivery practices. Awareness of budgeting principles and funder requirements. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.
