Bookkeeper (Part-time)

**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Owners, the Bookkeeper is responsible for performing full cycle bookkeeping, including full cycle accounting - AP, AR, cheque disbursements, credit card reconciliations, sales invoicing, tax planning, payroll, and ensuring all financial records are complete and accurate.
**Responsibilities**
- Perform full cycle bookkeeping, including full cycle accounting - AP, AR, cheque disbursements, credit card and bank account reconciliations, and sales invoicing
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
- Process bi-weekly payroll functions
- Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization's books of account
- Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities
- Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the store
- Maintain up-to-date, complete, and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records
- Perform tax planning and ensure compliance with Federal, Provincial and local payroll, and other applicable taxes
- Ensure all financial records are complete and accurate
- Maintain proper fixed assets list
**Requirements**:
- 1-2 years of full cycle bookkeeping with some payroll experience
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to take initiative
- Highly organized and effective time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgment when handling confidential information
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online) is an asset.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
