Food and Beverage Server

The Cedar Post Inn at Blind Channel Resort requires a fine dining server for the remainder of the current summer season. We are a family-run resort on West Thurlow Island, about fifty Km north of Campbell River, in the heart of BC's beautiful Inside Passage. Our clients are boaters travelling up the coast, guests in our onshore accommodations, and other visitors to the area. The Cedar Post Inn is a casual fine-dining restaurant, open for dinner. We also serve a barbecue lunch on our patio overlooking the marina. The main duties of our servers are greeting and seating guests, taking orders for food and beverages, relaying them to the kitchen via our POS system, and serving the guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Recommending and serving wines is an important part of the jobs as is basic bartending. Responsibilities of the servers include, but are not limited to: - managing and maintaining the bar and dining room areas, keeping them clean, fresh, and sanitary - ensuring all inventory and supplies are ready for service - reconciling daily cash. - assisting the kitchen at times with plating food, and possibly other tasks. - friendly and outgoing, a "people" person - experienced in fine dining - knowledgeable about current trends in food and how foods are complemented by fine wines - a hard worker - an effective communicator - physically fit and energetic - resourceful and flexible - positive and upbeat - a team player Because of the remote location, this is a live-in job; accommodations with a private room are provided on site; also included is a prepared meal while on shift.
