If this sounds like you then join our team at The El[P] We’re currently hiring for a Head Catering Chef position where you can nurture your creative flare for food and create a unique experience in historic downtown Peterborough.

**Job Description**:

- Must possess 3-5 years of experience in a sous chef/ head chef or catering manager role
- Control and direct the food preparation process
- Lead, manage and train kitchen staff at all levels
- Create menu items, recipes and develop dishes ensuring variety and quality
- Curate and flawlessly execute special menus for events
- Determine food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Manage food costs and maximize profit potential
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines ensuring food hygiene practices are met
- Possess a food handling certificate

**Skills**:

- Excellent knowledge of both FOH and BOH workflow
- Ability to produce excellent high-quality food in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Good oral communication and team management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Enthusiastic to develop your own skills and knowledge plus teach those around you
- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work
- Meet deadlines for special event menus
- Positive and approachable manner
- Solution oriented with strong problem solving skills
- Collaborate and work with management at all levels

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
