**Bartender Job Description**

The Bartender is responsible for the overall dining experience of each guest. The Bartender plays a key role in creating the _vibe_ and an environment where our guests feel relaxed and engaged. **Role of the Bartender**
- Be enthusiastic, professional, and hospitable
- Ensure every guest leaves wanting to return by providing a hospitable guest experience
- Provide the guest suggestions/recommendations for food & drinks based on their wants or needs
- Possess a sincere attitude to be of service to others with a desire to succeed

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Knowledge of Lions Head Pub including all products, menu’s and promotions - be able to relate all information in appealing and informative manner to all guests
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of current WHIMS guidelines, protocols and standards
- Knowledge of property including property information, amenities and hours of operation
- Table & bar service - taking orders, answering menu and beverage inquiries, explaining daily features, placing orders with kitchen while following all standards as it pertains to each tasks
- Delivery of food & beverage to tables in the dining room
- Processing bills and taking payment
- Handling guest concerns with and without the support of the management team
- Providing the highest quality of service at all times in all guest interactions
- Clearing, setting, polishing and cleaning tables, glassware & utensils
- Preparation and cleanliness of dining room & service stands before, after & during each service
- Proper adherence to all cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies
- Correct use of POS system, adhering to all company standards and policies
- Preparing alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Mix ingredients to prepare classic and specialty cocktails - ensure consistent adherence to recipes
- Ensure consistent inventory through regular inventories and recipe adherence - maintain liquor and bar supplies
- Maintain highest level of cleanliness on all bar surfaces including counters, tools, and equipment
- Ensure safe and responsible alcohol service as per all Serve Right Regulations
- Count and reconcile bar float and daily transactions
- Ensure food is presented with exceptional level of detail prior to delivering to guests

**Job Requirements**
- Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a high-paced environment Must meet minimum provincial age for serving alcohol
- Minimum of 1 year related bartending experience
- Fluency in English both written and verbal
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 25lbs, must be able to stoop and bend
- Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
- Current and valid Serve Right certification
- Current and valid CPR/ First Aid considered an asset

**Salary**: $13.35 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- serving: 1 year (preferred)
- bartending: 1 year (preferred)
