**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a hands-on Field Services Technician to join our team based in Kenora, Ontario. This is a permanent full-time position for someone who is comfortable on a ladder, skilled with tools, and takes pride in quality workmanship. You will install and maintain physical security systems, connectivity solutions, and low-voltage infrastructure for clients across the public and private sectors—from police services and healthcare facilities to businesses and Lake of the Woods property owners.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in low-voltage installation, structured cabling, or physical security systems who want to advance their career with a company that values work-life balance, professional development, and quality over volume. Under the supervision of the Field Services Manager, you will represent FSET's commitment to excellence at every client site.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Install, configure, and maintain Verkada video security cameras and access control systems
- Deploy Starlink satellite internet systems for residential and commercial clients, including Lake of the Woods cottages and remote locations
- Run, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a) and low-voltage wiring
- Mount and secure equipment including cameras, access points, network switches, and enclosures
- Perform site surveys and assessments to plan installation requirements
- Document installations with photos, cable labeling, and as-built records
- Troubleshoot and resolve physical connectivity and equipment issues
- Travel throughout Northwestern Ontario and to remote client sites as required
- Maintain professional client relationships and represent FSET with integrity at all times
**Required Qualifications**:
- 3-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation, structured cabling, or physical security systems
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to clean, professional installations
- Valid Class G driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders and lifts
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Kenora area
- Ability to obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience with IP camera systems, video surveillance, or access control installations
- CANASA Alarm Technician Course (ATC), BICSI Installer, or manufacturer certifications (Verkada, Axis, Honeywell, Bosch)
- Experience with Starlink or satellite internet installations
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, PoE, network switches)

**Work Environment & Location**:
This position is based in Kenora, Ontario, with regular travel throughout Northwestern Ontario and to client sites across the region. You will work at diverse locations including police detachments, healthcare facilities, municipal buildings, commercial properties, and Lake of the Woods residential and cottage properties. Some projects may require travel to remote communities. The role involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
