**Food Service Supervisor**

We are partnered with Ashbury College and are responsible for providing exceptional dining services to the students and faculty. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager to provide on-site responsive support while ensuring delivery of exceptional customer value and services to students, staff and faculty; providing positive team lead in a high-volume location and preparing for and overseeing special event catering functions.

**Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following**:

- Keyholder, opening and/or closing when the Food Service Manager is off site
- Providing excellent customer service to a large diverse customer base, including high volume timeframes throughout the day
- Reinforcing the importance of providing positive customer service by leading by example
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by responding to feedback as directed by the Food Service Manager
- Addressing customer concerns in a professional manner and ensuring direct contact and following up within appropriate timelines
- Ensuring front of house display areas are stocked, merchandized and tidy; Ensuring areas are safe, clean and well-organized; ensuring all menus / identifiers are prepared, accurate and posted daily
- Coordinating onsite catering event files; communicating event details with Head Chef and Event Staff; preparing and assembling all non-food related materials for events such as food signs, menus, décor, etc.; Working with the culinary team to ensure catering labels and ingredients are accurate
- Managing onsite catering events from start to finish when required while providing leadership and direction to all Event Staff
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, requirements and guidelines for working safely (lifting, knife safety, wet floor procedures and hot oven safety) and use of personal protective and safety equipment
- Report unsafe acts, conditions or equipment malfunction; report any injuries or illness immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**Education**
- Minimum of 3-years supervisory experience in food and beverage or hospitality services
- Current Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Current Smart Serve Certification
- Current CPR, First Aid and WHMIS Training would be an asset

**Experience**
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of related legislation, pertinent to food handling, safety such as Health Unit regulations
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to direct and supervise small and large groups of employees
- Experience in set-up, service, teardown and running catered events; catering management experience would be an asset
- Exhibit self-motivation, integrity, professional demeanour, and acumen to relate proficiently with all levels of staff and external sources / contacts
- Exceptional organizational abilities

**Required**:

- Police / Vulnerable Sectors Check will be required as you are working among young children.
- Nights and/or Weekend availability required for special catering events as per schedule

Pay: $23.65 per hour

- Supervising: 3 years (preferred)

- Food Safety Certification (preferred)
- Class G Licence (preferred)
