Recreation Attendant

As a Recreation Attendant at the Emerald Hills Leisure Centre, you will interact with guests to provide high-quality customer service as well as complete ongoing facility maintenance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare the facility for use by guests by ensuring proper room set-up and a safe, clean, and presentable facility
- Clean and maintain programs rooms, washrooms, lobbies, and other public areas
- Assist lifeguard staff with building maintenance and program set up on the pool deck, where required
- Greet rental clients and ensure all groups are aware of emergency procedures and protocol
- Interact with facility guests, staff, and contractors in a positive and professional manner
- Understand operational procedures for building emergencies and assist lifeguard staff in the event of an emergencyOutdoor work including litter control, snow removal, and ground maintenance
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Minimum completion of Grade 10
- High school diploma with experience in a customer service setting is an asset
- Daytime availability is an asset
- Availability for evening, weekend, and statutory holiday shifts
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification is required
- Exceptional customer services skills with the ability to interact with facility guests in a positive manner
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing needsProblem-solving skills with the ability to use good judgement when assisting customers
**Conditions of Employment**
- Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, and room set-up/takedownAbility to complete WHMIS certification upon employment (provided)
