Bracebridge Animal Hospital is looking for a passionate, self-motivated, hard working and reliable Veterinary Assistant - Animal Care Attendant in a full-time position. We are a 2 doctor, AAHA accredited, companion animal hospital that focuses on dogs, cats, pocket pets and some exotics.

Our priority is providing patients and clients with exceptional, quality service; using only the highest caliber of medication and technology. Our clinic has strict COVID protocols in place for the health & safety of our team and clients.

**Job Responsibilities Include**:

- Assist doctors, technicians and other personnel with the administration of medications and restraining pets for procedures and treatments, and assisting with curbside services.
- Maintain & sterilize surgical equipment (physical cleaning and autoclave)
- Clean all cages and runs and ensure proper identification of pets in confinement.
- Ensure all supplies are stocked in pharmacy, treatment and surgery areas
- General cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the clinic (examination rooms/treatment areas/surgical suite/reception/utility areas). Including daily laundry.
- Limited reception duties as needed

**Experience and skills**:

- Must be a self-starter, able to multitask and a team player.
- Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
- Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 30 lbs.). Should be able to lift 30lbs on own.
- Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.
- Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.
