Hotel Bookkeeper

**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records of the hotel and restaurant.
- Prepare and manage monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile accounts and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Liaise with external auditors and government agencies for financial audits and reporting requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a senior position in a company.
- Experience in a hotel or restaurant setting is preferred.
- Experience using **Opera Cloud software** is an asset.
- Experience using SAGE 50 is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and accounting software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Accounting designation is an asset.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- 2793 Beacon Blvd, Jordan Station, ON L0R 1S0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Degree in accounting (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Accounting/Bookkeeping: 5 years (preferred)
- Hotel: 1 year (preferred)
**Language**:
- English (preferred)
License/Certification:
- Accounting Designation (preferred)
