Fence & Post is a small, independent restaurant rooted in honest, from-scratch cooking. From naturally leavened sourdough and house-cured meats to hand-churned ice cream and refined à la carte dishes, we take pride in doing things the right way — with care, precision, and respect for ingredients.
We work closely with local producers, and we’re passionate about delivering thoughtful food and warm hospitality in a relaxed fine dining setting. Our kitchen is collaborative, technique-driven, and grounded in continual learning.
We’re currently looking for a **Chef de Partie** who shares our values and is eager to contribute to a professional, detail-focused kitchen.
**Your Role**
As Chef de Partie, you’ll be responsible for running a station during service, executing high-quality prep, and maintaining the standards that define our food. You’ll work alongside a supportive team that values communication, consistency, and pride in the work.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Set up and maintain a clean, efficient, and organized station
- Prepare and execute dishes to spec during service with consistency and care
- Perform a variety of prep tasks including knife work, butchery, sauce work, and pastry prep
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and organization at all times
- Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients and mise en place
- Support inventory and communicate prep and ordering needs
- Collaborate on seasonal menu changes and new dish development
- Uphold a positive and respectful kitchen culture

**What We’re Looking For**
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen (CDP, line cook, or similar role)
- Strong knife skills and working knowledge of classic and modern cooking techniques
- Calm, focused presence during busy service
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Clear communicator and strong team player
- Physical stamina and comfort working on your feet for long periods
- Culinary education is an asset, but hands-on experience is equally valued

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
