**Job Summary**

The position requires regular communication with employees, supervisors, and management, and involves tasks that support employee engagement, safety compliance, and operational readiness. The administrator is expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism while balancing both office-based administrative duties and on-site presence in the shop and yard.

Key functions include employee time and attendance corrections, submission of daily reports, coordination of safety documentation and meetings, first aid inventory, WCB administrative support, and facilitation of company policies and procedures. This role also contributes to cross-departmental efforts to improve workplace culture, safety awareness, and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time in-office position based out of Cochrane, Alberta. Remote work is unavailable for this role.

**Responsibilities**

**Human Resources Support**
- Administer daily time tracking and employee schedules in Dayforce; adjust start/end times, breaks, and vacation entries.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and policy orientation for 100+ staff.
- Manage employee files and documentation to ensure compliance with labor standards and company policies.
- Support employee relations, performance management, and workplace conflict resolution with supervisors.
- Coordinate team-building activities, staff events, and engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Maintain and update safety documentation through Workhub.
- Facilitate and document regular safety tailgate meetings.
- Submit daily production and safety reports to management.
- Conduct monthly AED checks and ensure first aid supplies are stocked.
- Provide administrative support during incident investigations and WCB claims, and complete employer reports accurately and promptly.
- Scan and file operational documents for workflow and safety compliance.
- Assist in production coverage and paperwork preparation for truss, wall, and floor lines using MiTek and Microsoft software.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR, Safety, or Administrative role (manufacturing experience preferred).
- Proficient with HRIS systems, ideally Dayforce, and documentation platforms like Workhub.
- Strong knowledge of employment and occupational health & safety standards.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific tools (e.g., MiTek, Shopnet, Sapphire).

**Working Conditions**

The incumbent is required to work in both an office environment and a manufacturing shop/yard setting. The office environment involves moderate noise and standard office routines, including computer-based tasks and interactions with staff. While in the shop and yard, the incumbent will be exposed to loud noise, dust, uneven surfaces, and temperature fluctuations. The role requires regular movement between these environments, including walking, standing, and occasional stair climbing.

**Physical Requirements**

The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer screen for extended periods, and reading documentation. The position also requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, particularly while conducting safety inspections or interacting with employees on the shop floor and in the yard. Occasional lifting, bending, and reaching may be necessary when handling safety supplies or documentation.
