Overview:
Yard labourer / Forklift operator are responsible for all product movement and equipment in the yard. Ensure trucks are loaded timely and accurately, as well as movement of product to enable and sustain production levels. Product must be loaded with proper attention to ensure that quality is maintained and all safety procedures are followed.

Yard labourers will also be responsible to aid in any area of the pipe plant that is required. They participate in housekeeping and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

**Responsibilities**:
**Major Responsibilities**:

- Move product from the plant to the yard safely, efficiently and without damaging it
- Loading trucks with different products safely and efficiently
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
- Work with supervisor to help ensure production targets and needs are met
- Ensure proper storage of material in the yard, including maintaining blocking and housekeeping standards
- Keep equipment maintained and clean
- Ensure yard is kept orderly, clean and easy to navigate
- Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each job
- Receive oral instructions to determine work assignments.
- Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers as required

Qualifications:
**Required Qualifications and Experiences**:

- Education Required: High School Diploma
- Years of Experience: 3-5 years is preferred

**Specific Experience**:

- Forklift experience required
- Experience working in a production line setting
- Prior experience in a pipe plant would be an asset
- Crane experience would be an asset

**Competencies**:

- Safety Oriented
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
- Able to work unsupervised, taking direction and completing tasks quickly and efficiently
- Able to work well with others
- Good communication skills
