**Job Summary**:
The Non-ferrous Operator must be able to properly identify and sort non-ferrous metals, and have experience driving a forklift, skid steer, and bobcat. Applies knowledge of non-ferrous metals to properly identify materials when interacting with customers. Operates skid steer, bobcat, and forklift to assist unloading materials from customers, and loads trailers to prepare for transport of non-ferrous materials. Operates in an outdoor, fast-paced setting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Must be able to sort, process, grade non-ferrous materials
- Inspects material for hazardous waste and grades different types of non-ferrous materials
- Loads and unloads non-ferrous material
- Operates forklift, bobcat, and skid steer
- Must be able to operate safely at all times
- Be able to effectively perform tasks independently
- Adheres to pile management procedures
- Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
- Completes inspection report prior to using equipment
- Observes and reports any safety issues
- Other duties may be assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - 3+ years of hands-on non-ferrous metal experience
- Understand and be able to grade all non-ferrous material properly
- Metal recycling industry experience
- Experience stripping equipment and/or with manual material sorting
- Knowledge of non-ferrous processing
- High school diploma (Or GED)
- Well-articulated and assertive
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, maintenance personnel and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Mechanically inclined an asset
- Computer literate

**Job Type**: Full-time

**Salary**: $31.06 per hour
