**NCO JOB DESCRIPTION COMMUNITY PROGRAM PATHFINDER**

**Position Summary**:
**The Community Program Pathfinder will help, and support creating a safe and culturally grounded community gathering space for relatives to gather for supports. These supports come in the form of support groups, workshops, lessons, partner organization programs, and peer-support groups for our relatives in community. This member of the NCO team will be grounded in community, and pathfind the needed supports for our relatives.**
**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Chief Executive Pathfinder (CEP) for coordination, development, statistical tracking, and facilitation of community-based programs offered by The Native Clan Organization (NCO) and partner organizations.
**RESPONSIBLE FOR**:
- Comply with the NCO Mission Statement, as well as all applicable Directives, Policies, Protocols and partner organization policies when applicable.
- Attend staff meetings, lead meeting portions, and train and mentor NCO staff in the topics of program development, facilitation, and creating culturally appropriate spaces for learning.
- Participate in Professional Development as directed by the (CEP) for the purposes of program facilitation or other topics to further NCO’s mission.
- Provide CEP the annual CPP budget requirements, and facility requirements.
- Provide Manitou House Pathfinder (MHP) a monthly written report of CPP activities by the 14thof each month.
- Work with partner organizations to develop and deliver programs, lessons, workshops, and support groups in a community setting that is culturally approachable, safe, and easily accessible.
- Develop policies, methods, and systems of data tracking, referral, and operation under the review of the CPP for the needs of the facility.
- Network and strengthen NCO’s partner network and community presence.
- Collaborate with staff, families, groups, justice staff, relatives, and stakeholders to address and identity needed programs for future development.
- Display a knowledge of local resources, supports, and organizations that can also support our relatives who trust NCO and come to NCO for support.
- Develop methods of reporting success in programs, groups, or workshops to partner agencies that take into account privacy, needs, and cultural sensitivity.
- Maintain confidential files, information, and data in a sound way that does not put NCO or our relatives at risk.
- Develop and maintain ways for partner organizations to utilize the facility space NCO has access to, and account for safety, liability, confidentiality, and community needs.
- Develop and maintain a stable schedule of support groups, programs, workshops, and events at the space NCO has access to so community needs can be met.
- Develop ways of relatives being able to give feedback on groups, programs, and workshops to better serve them or address shortfalls.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of program, workshop, support group, and other statistical data for NCO tracking and utilization.
- Maintain community awareness of programs, support groups, workshops, and other events hosted or facilitated by NCO.
- Act as a mentor and role-model for NCO staff looking to develop facilitation, support group, or event experience.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and ability to work independently in a trusted role within NCO.
- Any other duties assigned by the CEP.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Education, training, or working experience in program facilitation, program development, creating safe spaces, and community outreach and partnerships.
- Working experience with western justice systems desired.
- Ability to conduct individual counseling or support.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in reporting and data statistics.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form. Must also be able to communicate effectively in a cultural or in person setting.
- Ability to identify needs/risks of clients exiting justice systems, or who are experiencing unaddressed trauma.
- Ability to maintain an effective network of partner and support agencies.
- Ability create and co-develop programs and support groups to address the needs of our community.
