Ventura Custom Homes was crowned Top Choice Home Builder of Winnipeg for 2022, 2023, and 2024 **Position Overview**: Reporting directly to the Senior Estimator, the Estimator is responsible for preparing budgets and pricing proposals with accurate costs for custom-built homes in the residential construction industry. **Responsibilities**: The duties of the Estimator would include: - Preparing budgets with accurate costs for Custom Home Agreements, Spec Homes, and Show Homes - Preparing complicated option cost breakdowns for the Purchasing Department when required - Preparing pricing proposals with accurate costs for preliminary plans and line drawings so custom home agreements can be signed by new customers - Creating & maintaining cost-effective supplier spreadsheets, standard plan costing templates, and purchase order templates for new and existing base plans - Maintaining & updating base plan options price lists for new plans, price increases, and code changes - Analyzing actual material costs in the Basement, Framing and Finishing sections for job-specific addresses and compare to standard plan costing templates to ensure accuracy **Requirements**: - Minimum of 3 years of Estimating experience in residential single-family homes construction - Demonstrated proficiency in written/oral communication (writing, planning, editing, formatting) in the English language - Must have a high degree of computer literacy in a Windows environment - Home Front construction software an asset - Minimum "intermediate level" Excel - must know Pivot Tables and IF statements - Strong keyboarding skills (min of 40 WPM) - Ability to establish priorities, work independently, problem-solve and proceed with objectives without supervision Ventura offers a competitive compensation package including vision care, dental care, extended health care, life insurance, free parking. - **Please note: Safety is a core value at Ventura.
