Tracking & Survey Field Technician

**Position Summary**
We are looking for entry level tracking and survey field technicians in **Ontario** to deploy tool tracking boxes and track pipeline pigs during pipeline cleaning and inspection runs as well as survey services.
**Reporting**
All Tracking & Survey field personnel in Canada report to the Tracking & Survey Field Services Leader.
**Specific Duties**
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Operate advanced field gear, including GPS data collectors and pipe locating equipment.
- Walk the above-ground pipeline Right-of-Ways (ROW) across all terrains.
- Review/download documents of record. Prepare custom reports, daily project, and safety checklists.
- Operate company vehicles or rentals.
- Follow safe work practices, company standards, and customer service protocol.
- Operating skills for ATV's and snowmobiles
- Basic knowledge of transmitters and receivers
- Basic knowledge and operations of GPS equipment
- Understand the concept of flows and conduct simple calculations
- Experience with the use of two-way radios.
- Previous experience in pipeline construction and/or pipeline pigging an asset.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel) and PC Skills.
- Familiarity in surveying, line locating, or GPS an asset (company training available).
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Willing to travel for a minimum of 2-4 weeks at a time but may be longer depending on the project.
- ATV and boating experience an asset.
**Personal Attributes & Job Requirements**

- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to do general calculations.
- Willing to travel and be away from home for extended periods.
- Willing to work at nights and weekends when required.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be in general good physical condition.
- Must be able to work unsupervised and also in a group setting
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Enjoys working outdoors.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Good observational skills.
- Positive attitude, and eager to learn and brings continuous improvement to the position and the Company.
- Is eligible to work in Canada and willing to travel when required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walking as much as 6 km per day.
**Safety Training & Safety Certifications**
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass drug and alcohol pre-hire testing.
- Valid H2S Alive certification.
- Valid and recognized First Aid & CPR training.
- WHMIS 2015
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate.
- ATV and/or Snowmobile Training.
**Hours & Working Conditions**
Hours for this position are expected to be 80-90% in the field, and 10-20% in the office or from home.
**Salary**: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
