Calgary, Canada Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd. Full time

Supporting Volker Stevin Contracting, reporting to a Foreman, a **Track Loader Operator** is responsible for safe and efficient operation of a track loader. Track Loader Operator will perform duties as assigned to ensure that completed work is delivered according to Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd.’s company policies and procedures, Alberta Occupational Health and Safety and Contract specifications.

**Equipment Operation**:

- Operate a track loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of a loader.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refuel equipment as necessary.
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
- A sound understanding of ground disturbance.
- Use a track loader to load trucks, haul aggregates, level soil, move rock/debris.

**Working Environment/Conditions**:

- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 20 LBS on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
- Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D is preferred; with experience in related construction activities.
- Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience within the underground utility construction industry.
- 2 - 3 years’ experience operating a track loader is required.
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License; clean Driver Abstract.
- Knowledge of underground utility installation, process, materials, industry standards, and OH&S requirements.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Valid Ground Disturbance certificate.
- Physically capable to lift and carry at least 20 LBS on an occasional basis.

**Note**:We promote a safe work environment with a substance testing program.

**Location**: You must be willing to relocate at your expense to the Calgary Area for the duration of the season.
