**Production Lead Hand**

CMP Group Ltd., a leading provider of Marine Products, Construction, and Industrial solutions is seeking a Production Lead Hand on a full-time permanent basis to join the Vaughan location/team. The Production Lead Hand reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the safe set up and operation of all equipment in designated department. The lead hand monitors the productivity and quality of department and employees through standardized work, maintaining the supply of process materials, responding to team members and ensuring the efficient processing of work order documentation, training and continuous improvements.

**Responsibilities**: (includes: Productivity, equipment and facility maintenance, continuous improvement, safety, quality and training)
- Expedition of production orders, perform accurate review of work orders and close them
- Ensure that completed production is inspected and moved to designated areas after transacting
- Manage manpower and equipment to meet production schedule and meet or exceed production targets within department of responsibility
- Ensure operating supplies are readily available, schedule attainment boards are accurate and timely and that cycle counts are conducted and verified
- When operating supplies are noticed to be low or out, a list should be submitted to the production manager
- Establish, implement and manage effective crew talks/meetings and provide trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team
- Maintain/monitor good housekeeping practices within area of responsibility and in common areas
- Ensure operators are properly trained in maintaining equipment and that completed products are moved into the designated area (for inspection, packaging or shipping)
- Manage and sustain 6S and Lean initiatives, continuous improvement projects and best practices in all work areas, complete with process documentation.
- Lead the department to meet targets/goals and take action to correct issues and make improvements
- Enforce safety practices and that ensure all work areas meet or exceed as outlined in the Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Provide timely accident investigations or corrective actions to the Safety Committee
- Implement changes required as per Safety Committee recommendations
- Shut down an operation when operation is deemed unsafe/hazardous to an employee
- Lead fire drills within department
- Ensure the Company’s quality policies and procedures are followed
- Understand and implement quality control techniques and procedures and complete all required quality reports and corrective actions
- Provide recommendations for changes to Visual aids, controlled drawings and Engineering Masters in order to accurately reflect tasks performed
- Weekly disposition and reporting of all parts moved into quarantine, generated in the area of responsibility
- Ensure that orientation and training of all shop floor employees is conducted and documented per the company policy and sent to HR
- Participate in meetings with the Plant Manager and provide detailed accurate manpower requirements
- Effectively manage company disciplinary policy and facilitate annual employee evaluations
- Ensure timely and accurate Time & Attendance reporting.
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- 2-3 years of working experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
- Valid lift truck certification for Reach, Counterbalance and Propane fork lifts Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs.
- Working experience with both small and big machinery and basic knowledge of lockout procedures
- Ability to work under limited supervision either individually or in a team and to perform daily crew talks and troubleshoot
- WHMIS and 5S knowledge and experience and strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment
- Completion of Canadian secondary school or equivalent
- Good understanding of administration, training abilities, leadership qualities and Interpersonal, time management, mathematical and record keeping skills

- 6.30am - 3.30pm
