International Point of Care is an Etobicoke, ON-based company specialized in the area of rapid point-of-care. We develop, manufacture, and supply unique biological reagents, raw materials, and lateral flow components for the in-vitro diagnostic industry and the research and development community.
Our expanding team is currently looking for production workers to perform various manufacturing duties in the process where we manufacture freeze-dried reagent beads, and assemble and package medical devices. This is a four months contract to start with a possibility to extend/hire.
**Job Description**:
Reporting to the production supervisor, employees in this position perform various manufacturing activities such as dispensing, free-drying, packaging related to the Program. This work is of a precise nature and is performed within a controlled environment where temperature, humidity, and contamination are closely monitored.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various aspects of manufacturing and packaging including, but not limited to dispensing, lyophilization, and packaging processes
- Set up and run bead dispensers, lyophilizers, and any packaging equipment
- Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures/Good Manufacturing Practices and verbal instructions
- Assist in set up, operation, and maintenance of production equipment
- Maintain records to comply with regulatory requirements
- Examine components in the assembly process and flag potential defects or quality issues
- Keep the facility clean and be conscious of contamination control since the work is with components of medical devices.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Experience in assembly, packaging, and labeling of products
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and inspection equipment
- Experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and performing a routine inspection or test procedures as required
- Experience following Standard Operating Procedures or similar protocols.
- Basic knowledge of computers (MS Office)
- Strong detail orientation
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- High School diploma/equivalent or 2-3 years of related experience in a production/packaging set.
