Are you an actuarial analyst who also has strong analytical and computer skills? Do you enjoy looking into the details and have a highly developed ability to use all capabilities of software tools? Are you looking to take part in long-term projects for leading Canadian plans? Then Aon has the opportunity you have been looking for
Aon is looking for a Configuration Specialist for our implementation team within pension administration. The team works closely with internal teams to implement and support solutions for clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a pension analyst looking to familiarize themselves with tools.
Please note that responsibilities and job levels can vary based on skills and experience. Whether you have 2 years of experience, or 10, we’d love to hear from you
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Montreal office.
**Aon is in the business of better decisions**
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
**What the day will look like**
The Configuration specialist works closely with internal teams:
- Review analysis documents and configure the system (using graphic user interface tools), to fix a system defect or complete a client request/change
- Complete unit testing to ensure no major defects are in the calculated results. Determine if the configuration performs accurately, reflects requirements, and has zero negative impact on existing provisions (including regression testing analysis)
- Document defects when actual results do not meet expected results
- Analyze issues/defects and debug the system when the configuration is not producing the expected results. Research issues to determine if the source of error is with the test data, test plan, expected results, or configuration
- Resolve issues with test cases or with configuration and re-tests. Raise issues as appropriate
- Coordinate, manage and monitor activities related to system maintenance
- Lead all aspects of day-to-day work per priorities
**How this opportunity is different**
Our highly collaborative team drives innovation through ideas and implementation of solutions that allow an enhanced digital member experience and more efficient internal processing. You will have the ability to work on exciting projects which help redefine the Canadian pension administration services.
**Skills and experience that will lead to success**
The Configuration Specialist is an extremely detailed self-starter.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or equivalent work experience in an analytical area
- Pension work experience
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word)
- Troubleshoot basic system defects and errors.
- Ability to interpret and understand requirements documentation
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Understand basic relational database concepts (e.g., table relationships, keys)
- Keen attention to detail
- Bilingualism (English and French), highly desired
**How we support our colleagues**
In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Plus, our agile, inclusive environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon.
