Position summary
Property Developers across Canada are putting a greater focus on mixed-use communities that enable their residents to live, work, shop, and play - all in one place. These developments often have shared amenities which drives a need for more technical submetering solutions to ensure residents and tenants are fairly billed for utility use. Metergy’s Custom Solutions group is responsible for developing technical submetering solutions to address this need.
Your personality
You posses a balance of technical, interpersonal, and communication skills which enables you to effectively develop and implement solutions for your clients. You are an organized individual with an eye for detail who takes ownership in everything you do.
**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in discovery sessions with external clients to evaluate their complex submetering needs
- Review electrical and mechanical drawings to develop an understand of utility distribution feeds, and the mechanical systems serving the client’s property
- Transform your understanding of the distribution/systems into a technical submetering solution that addresses the client’s specific needs
- Select & size the appropriate submetering hardware solutions based on the technical requirements you developed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure your solutions are aligned with, and can be supported by other business units
- Effectively communicate your solutions to internal and external stakeholders to drive projects out of the design phase and into the execution phase
- Communicate requirements to internal stakeholders for an efficient transfer to the project delivery team.
- Effectively manage your time and deliver results on multiple projects at the same time
- Any other tasks in support of commercial submetering projects as necessary
**Qualifications**:
- Engineering Degree from a 4-5 year program at a recognized University, or a Technologist Diploma from a 3 year program at a recognized College or Technical Institution
- Related experience in the electrical and/or metering field, or energy services field
- Basic understanding of the various electrical & mechanical systems found in high-rise residential and commercial buildings.
- Possess excellent planning, organization, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience with energy management and/or energy consulting is considered an asset
Physical Effort and Working Conditions
- Sitting at the desk for long periods of time
- Working at client sites in electrical and mechanical rooms
- Travel within the GTA and surrounding Municipalities as required
- Occasional travel out of Province
- Occasional overtime
- Flexibility to work from the office at least once per week
Additional Information
- A strong understanding of health and safety on construction site(s) and around electrical equipment.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act
- A Valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
- Must demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19
