The HR Representative II will report directly to the HR Manager
**Major Accountability**:
- Manage employee relation issues within established protocols including career pathing, conflict resolution, counselling, and exit interviews
- Manage and guide the recruitment function for professional, technical, hourly positions including interviews, tests, and selection of employees to fill vacant positions
**Essential Job Functions**:
- Acts as a resource to leadership team, managers, and directors. Assists and advises in areas of compensation, recruitment, and promotion.
- Works in HR Fusion and ORC as well as other software to maintain records of employee transactions such as hire, promotions, transfers, reviews and terminations and employee statistical reporting to government regulators.
- Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employment-related data and prepare required reports.
- Maintains workforce listings, posts, and awards job bids.
- Promptly responds to grievances and maintains grievance log.
- Responsible for new hire employee orientation.
- Benefit Administration to include claims resolutions, change reporting and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Back-up for Payroll processing.
- Performing other duties as assigned
**Job Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Human Resources or related field; with a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in HR
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to exercise judgment and independently determine and take appropriate action within defined HR policies and procedures.
- Experienced in a manufacturing setting within a unionized environment
- Designated CHRP preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel
