**1 ‑ Full Time ‑ Referral Clerk**

**Radiation Oncology Pre and Post**

Under the direct supervision of the Manager for Clinic Operations, Nursing, Systemic Therapy, Palliative and

Supportive Care, this position will be responsible for managing all referrals to the cancer program for medical

oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, palliative and supportive care including obtaining all relevant clinical and

demographic information to prepare the chart, register the patient and schedule the appointment. The New Patient

Referral Clerk has daily direct communication with Specialist Physician offices and patients.

Employment Requirements:
Education/Experience:

- Graduate of a recognized Health Records Technician/HIM program or equivalent
- Medical Terminology
- High level of proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of Meditech, Mosaiq and NCompass
- Working knowledge of and recent experience with coding of ambulatory cancer cases using ICD codes for

Oncology essential

Skills/Abilities:

- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to multi‑task, effectively balancing competing priorities and tight timelines
- Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize by urgency for a variety of cancer disease sites
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision

Assets:

- Certified member with the Canadian Health Information Management Association in good standing with proof of

continuing education credits

Salary Range: $26.588 to 27.221
