**Summer Student, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion**:
The University of Saskatchewan (USask) strategically advances its Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Framework for Action through the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic. This framework is a commitment to pan-university representation of EDI initiatives that create a welcoming campus community for all.

This position is ideal for a currently enrolled USask undergraduate student in their 3rd or 4th year of their program who is interested in developing skills in EDI, career growth and learning opportunities.

**Primary Purpose**: You will support the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic by advancing EDI initiatives within the university community. You will engage in research and assist in implementing EDI programs, aiming to create a more welcoming academic and non-academic environment on campus. This position involves collaboration with various university stakeholders to ensure that EDI strategic priorities are being promoted through campus activities.

**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Deputy Provost, you will be engaged with multiple projects related to EDI programs. Your role involves analyzing current programs, developing newer initiatives, and ensuring this work’s alignment with the strategic priorities of the EDI Framework for Action.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:

- Support various EDI projects
- Provide effective communication to ensure engagement and alignment of programs with EDI
- Complete research and data analysis in the context of EDI practices, and assist with developing and implementing programs and initiatives based on this research
- Converse with stakeholders regarding EDI best practices
- Practice creativity and problem solving in decision making
- Demonstrate effective project coordination so projects achieve desired outcomes in alignment with strategic priorities of the EDI Framework for Action
- Identify opportunities to introduce new and updated EDI practices
- Support change through relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Support a strong program-oriented culture
- Contribute to a positive, EDI-focused work environment
- Provide exemplary work in a timely and respectful manner
- Develop and maintain positive working and problem-solving relationships with all stakeholders
- Respect confidentiality matters
- Ensure risks are identified and considered when navigating EDI practices
- Ensure compliance with university policies, practices, strategies and frameworks

**Education**: Currently enrolled USask undergraduate student in their 3rd or 4th year of their program.
