**JOB SUMMARY**
- The Fleet Maintenance Planning & Quality Control Branch manages multiple programs within Transit Bus Operations and Maintenance to provide safe, reliable, efficient, timely, and cost-effective transit vehicle Quality Control and Assurance in accordance with federally regulated transit service standards within the city. The work carries a significant responsibility in managing professional, technical, and operational staff engaged in business analytics, budget control, fleet performance and fleet maintenance planning.
- You are responsible for managing, evaluating, and improving the branch’s programs, services, projects, and operations in order to support federally regulated transit services within the city, including the development, implementation and evaluation of related policies, guidelines, systems, and processes.
- You are responsible for establishing a performance dashboard, a budgeting and expensing tool, and fleet management software. You define and measure success metrics, develop or implement quality control programs while collaborating with safety regulatory team and engineering and monitors change progress. In addition, you are also responsible for overseeing the operational logistics of purchasing and distribution of maintenance parts as well as inventory management of replacement items.
- Programs, services, and projects include:

- Transit Materials Management, and vendor relationships
- Fleet Maintenance Planning
- Project Management for Fleet Maintenance (E-bus program, software enhancements, establishing a new garage,
- life cycle of all vehicles and systems within bus maintenance operations
- Quality Assurance and Fleet Reliability
- You are also responsible for managing financial and human resources (city outsourcing, maintenance work across the city, towing capacity, purchasing materials from multiple vendors, parts, and materials), and stakeholder and partner relationships.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Completion of a 4-year university degree in business, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another related field
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience in business analytics, maintenance and quality assurance in transportation including a minimum of 5 years in the management of human and financial resources preferably within a large, unionized transportation system.

**CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES**
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Fleet maintenance plans including forecasting methodologies, and resource allocation strategies
- Business analytic principles and methodologies including KPI’s implementation.
- Project Management principles and financial planning
- Legislation, regulations, policies, standards, and guidelines relevant to the work
- Industry trends and developments
- Business administration concepts, theories, principles, and methodologies
- Understanding of the programs/services and operations of other City areas, and the inter-relationships between them and own work area
- MS Office, SAP and M5 or other Fleet Management software
- Must be familiar with applicable health and safety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace, and have knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and City policies and procedures
