- POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Managers, Workplace Strategy are responsible for managing all aspects of facilities and construction projects by preparing and coordinating project plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, calls for tender and reports, reviewing bids, negotiating and awarding contracts to resources retained to conduct projects, while ensuring that procedures are respected. They ensure that facilities continuously meet environmental, ergonomic, health and safety standards and adhere to government regulations by coordinating the physical environment, and integrating business administration, architecture, behavioral and engineering science principles.
- CHALLENGES TO BE MET- Implement project strategies and initiatives ensuring that they are within approved budgets and BDC guidelines and procedures. Ensure that they meet BDC’s corporate social responsibility initiatives as well as the workplace occupancy strategy.- Inform and obtain buy-in from internal resources (VPs, AOM, IT) and external resources (architects, engineers, real estate consultants and landlords) to work together towards BDC’s business objectives, all within a limited timeframe.- Work with business centre management and department heads to identify their needs and requirements regarding project development services, design solutions, build consensus and execute the solutions that will help meet those needs while adhering to BDC strategies, policies and procedures.- Manage the purchasing of goods and services and approve purchase requisitions and invoices for facilities projects, ensuring that they are within the approved project budget and comply with Bank policies and procedures.- Coordinate the design, recommendation, approval and implementation of signage to maximize BDC’s visibility, in compliance with BDC’s graphic standards while respecting all levels of government requirements.- Coordinate periodic risk/threat analysis by monitoring security breaches with respect to the physical environment and managing the security contracts for the provision of intrusion alarms throughout the branch network.- Ensure smooth negotiations between landlords and the project management team and support/advise the real estate management team by preparing and/or providing due diligence reports for sites under consideration.- Keep abreast of best project management practices by researching and evaluating methodologies, processes and standards to develop guidelines to follow.
- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor degree in architecture, engineering, commercial interior design or equivalent.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering occupancy or workplace planning projects for large organizations is an asset.- Ability to listen to and support clients throughout the project life cycle, and to clearly articulate issues and options/solutions.- Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative and consultative partnerships with internal and external clients.- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Strong ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines.-
