Care At Home Services, a leader in quality home care is expanding our amazing team, seeking passionate and hardworking Recreational Aides. We are looking for staff to support a long-term care facility in ABBOTSFORD, BC
As the Recreation Aide, you are responsible for assisting the recreation team in the delivery of recreation activities to promote physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs of our residents.
**Responsibilities**
- Engage residents through regular conversation
- Assist with program coordination and implementation
- Provide one on one support to residents
- Observe and report on resident care and services
- Assist with coordinating volunteers and community resources
- Collaborate with peers to coordinate activities
- Manage recreation equipment, including inventory and maintenance concerns
- Event and activity setup and cleanup
- Operate in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Experience in a residential care setting is preferred
- Completion of high school diploma
- Valid provincial class 4 driver's license is an asset
- Completion of CPR and First Aid is an asset
- Safe Food Handling Certificate is required
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requests
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve
**Qualifications**:
- Graduate from a recognized Recreation Aide Certificate or diploma program.
- Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset.
- Health Care Provider level First Aid Certificate (Current).
- Proof of COVID vaccination
**Schedule**:
TUE - SAT 0800-1600 ( 2 month contract ) May be extended
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $30.00 per hour
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
**Experience**:
