- Position Information- With an annual budget of over $1B the Ottawa Hospital is a large complex organization, one of the largest of its kind in Canada.- The Financial Analyst - Capital is responsible for tracking capital expenditures and funding transactions, including calculating budgets and actual expenditures by project, tracking against forecast, monitoring the use of deferred capital contributions, and preparing related billings associated with the Capital Budget and Reporting processes at the Ottawa Hospital. This position will be responsible for the monthly updating and analysis of the construction-in-progress accounts, project budget variance reports and the fixed-asset sub-system.- The Financial Analyst - Capital will prepare month-end and year-end analysis of capital, construction-in-progress and deferred capital contribution balances as well as other requests and ensure that all necessary reporting to senior management and other stakeholders is submitted on a timely and accurate basis, to ensure proper use of funds and reporting of capital assets.- Rotation/Shifts- Days, 8 hour shifts.- Basic Requirements- Undergraduate Degree or College Diplomas in Commerce/or Accounting;
- CPA (CA/CMA/CGA) or working towards completion;
- Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in financial analysis, preferably in a large, complex environment;
- Proficient with spreadsheets and reporting tools;
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through collaborative & productive relationships with various stakeholders and partners;
- Results oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage time to successfully meet strict deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Preferred Qualifications- Experience with a large ERP financial systems (ORACLE);
- Knowledge of CIHI-MIS guidelines;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
