One Planet Group, a hybrid tech firm that owns and operates a suite of online technology and media businesses, is looking for a Communications Specialist to support the company’s media strategies. Reporting to the Director of PR and Communications for One Planet Group, you will be responsible for the execution and maintenance of an overarching comms strategy for One Planet Group and its sub brands along with hands-on support of its media strategy. **This role will report onsite in our office based in Victoria, British Columbia.**

Additionally, you will collaborate with the broader global team to build, implement and document best practices for use across the PR, Communications, & Marketing practice. The One Planet team is seeking a team member that will foster an environment that promotes equality and empowerment as stated in our **Culture Manual**.
**What You Will Do**:

- Source PR opportunities for One Planet Group and its CEO and founder Payam Zamani; including: awards, thought leadership, speakerships
- Develop content for OPG's blog and social media channels, including paid campaign production
- Writing and editing of press releases, bios, and fact sheets
- Develop and nurture relationships with key Canadian and American media
- Work closely with internal teams to develop cohesive messaging across all OPG entities
- Assist Director of Communications with the management of public profile of Payam Zamani
- Facilitate media events as needed.
- Maintain OPG website

**What Makes You Qualified**:

- 3+ years of experience in PR, communications, marketing, or related field
- Ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment
- An effective storyteller with impeccable writing and editing skills
- Established relationships with local and national media
- Obsessive attention to detail
- This role will report to our office based in Victoria, British Columbia
