**Join Our Team as Care for Newcomer Children Staff (Non-ECE)**

As a Care for Newcomer Children Staff (non-ECE) at the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC), you will play a crucial role in provide quality care with a child-centered approach to the children participating in the CNC program ensuring health and safety. Reporting directly to the Program Operations Manager, you will receive ongoing supervision and support through formal meetings and as-needed consultations.

**Work Schedule**:
This is a part-time positions that requires flexibility. You will work Monday through Friday, with hours that may include evenings to best serve the community's needs.

**Compensation**:
Earn a competitive wage of $24.82 per hour

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Activities planning**: Develop and implement daily activities that support and promote the development of newcomer children Short Term programs or Combined Care programs (as applicable)
- **Program running**: Welcome and interact with newcomer children and their parents. Provide activities and experiences that meet the individual developmental needs of the children. Engage children in activities that support a child-centred approach. Guide and assist children in the development of healthy eating, dressing and toilet habits.
- **Records management**: Maintain records, including a daily record, Attendance Form, Child Profile, and Session Management Form
- **Needs Assessment**: Assess the skills, abilities, interests and needs of children.
- **Feedback and Evaluation**: Discuss children’s progress or concerns with parents and other staff members.
- **Professional Development**: Attend staff meetings and workshops as directed by the manager
- **Team Collaboration**: Actively participate as a member of the SLNRC team, working towards collective goals.
- **Other Duties**: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Operations Manager

**Qualifications**:

- **Job Experience**: Experience working with the ages of children that will be cared for
- **Cultural awareness**: Understanding and awareness of settlement issues and the concerns of newcomer children and parents.
- **Health assessment**: Current Health assessment including immunization and proof of Tuberculosis status
- **Training certificates**:Current first aid and CPR certification
- **Criminal background check**:Must have a clear criminal background check dated within 6 months of start date.
- **Other**: working with young children and includes lifting and participating in physical activities. It may also involve the supervision of children and physical activities out of doors. Set up and take down equipment and other items used in the program
