With an extensive and varied portfolio of work upcoming, and a steadily increasing presence on the island, GT Mann is looking to grow our team and set the stage for our next busy period.

To aid our growth and help implement some key systems, we are looking for a qualified Site Superintendent with a few years of experience to come onboard on our Commercial Team. We need a motivated person who can manage the day-to-day construction of commercial projects from beginning to completion. They supervise all personnel on the assigned project site, on-site schedule work, and sequencing with internal/external stakeholders, and ensure that projects are completed within the contract documents, specified tolerances, and municipal regulations. The Site Superintendent implements measures to ensure compliance on-site with the regulations of Work Safe BC. The Site Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and General Site Superintendent to monitor budgets and costs and suggests where the CPM schedule and project budget can be improved.

**Key Qualifications**

Education
- Minimum of Carpenter RSE certification or trades qualifications certificate.
- GSE, AScT, P. Eng, C-Tech, Architectural degree, or formal education all considered an asset.
- Safety, fall protection training required, OFA 1 or greater required, CTS-09 or similar an asset. JOHS training an asset.
- In lieu of certifications, relevant experience is considered.

**Experience**
- 5+ years’ supervisory experience in commercial, multifamily, or industrial construction. Min level of foreperson or assistant Superintendent on part 3 or complex projects more than $5,000,000.
- Experience in scheduling and sequencing multi-employer work sites.
- Experience in using the master format and formal contractual process of RFIs, Sis, CCNs, CO’s, CDs is required.
- Knowledge of standard construction contracts.

**Skills**
- Intermediate understanding of construction management concepts including budgeting, scoping, scheduling, and quality control.
- Knowledge of resource allocation, forecasting and scheduling labour, and cost and material coding for historical costs.
- Sound understanding of WorkSafe BC regulations as applied to general contractor site responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, supplementary instructions.
- Intermediate computer literacy, able to use Microsoft Windows and Office. Excel, MS Project, Blue beam, all considered an asset.
- Proficiency and understanding of the management of site logistics and contract operations on tight urban sites.
- Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization and communication.

**Key Duties**

Leadership
- Communicates GT Mann’s purpose, values, and strategic plans, internally and externally.
- Establishes on-site construction processes that promote company culture and vision.
- Monitors day-to-day on-site construction performance and the work of direct reports.
- Leads the way in ethics, code of conduct, and Health and Safety matters, living out GT Mann’s policies at all times.

Construction
- Prioritizes and implementsall construction processes as detailed in GT Mann documentation. Works to improve efficiency and process as much as possible.
- Ensures health and safety of all employees on-site, and the safety of the general public at all times during the project.
- Work closely with Project Manager and inform them of on-site status weekly (schedule delays, cost overruns, trade issues, or other project problems/successes).
- May be requested to assist with pre-construction setup, including resourcing, scheduling, logístical planning, and budgeting.
