Calgary, Canada Righteous Gelato Full time

**PRODUCTION LEAD**

**_ In Person, Calgary AB_**

Reporting to the Manufacturing Lead, the Production Lead plays a critical leadership role in translating strategic production plans into on-the-ground execution. Sitting at the mid-tier level of our production leadership structure, this role ensures that each shift is properly staffed, scheduled, and equipped to meet daily production targets—while upholding quality, food safety, and team development standards.

The Production Lead is also responsible for the analysis of raw production data to ensure it is translated into actionable insights for the entire Manufacturing function.

This role is a hybrid of administrative and on-the-floor work with the team - while they are less typically on the floor, they are deeply connected to it—developing supervisors, managing capacity and scheduling, overseeing training, and ensuring readiness of the team to “run the play”.

**WHO YOU ARE**

You’re a production professional with a strong foundation in manufacturing and a proven track record of leadership. You thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments where you can bring structure to complexity and help others grow. You’re as comfortable on the floor solving problems in real time as you are behind the scenes analyzing data and planning ahead.

You lead with empathy and clarity, coaching teams toward high performance with a focus on continuous improvement. You’re analytical, adaptable, and calm under pressure— balancing daily execution with long-term strategy.

You’re the right person if you embody the 10 Things That Require Zero Talent: Being on time. Work ethic. Effort. Body language. Energy. Attitude. Passion. Being coachable. Doing extra. Being prepared.

**YOUR MISSION**

**Production Planning & Execution**
- Own the daily and weekly production schedule and make sure the team, tools, and timelines are ready to roll
- Build staffing plans based on volume, product mix, and production goals
- Flag capacity issues early and collaborate on hiring and scheduling strategies
- Partner with QA and Manufacturing Leads to uphold our quality, food safety, and output standards

**Team Leadership**
- Coach, mentor, and guide Supervisors and Production Team Members
- Run team huddles, 1:1s, and performance reviews
- Review weekly updates and support team development across roles
- Delegate with intention and support growth through feedback and encouragement

**Training Program**
- Manage training for every role—onboarding, cross-training, and role-specific skill building
- Use our “Tell-Show-Do-Check” approach to train with clarity and confidence
- Maintain up-to-date SOPs and ensure training logs are always accurate
- Audit and refine training effectiveness to close any performance gaps

**Operational Data Analysis**
- Review production metrics like output, waste, labour, and efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling, processes, and performance
- Provide insights and reporting to support high-level decisions
- Recommend updates to methods, tools, or equipment that support quality and efficiency

**Coverage**
- Production and supervision coverage when needed
- Support hands-on processes when required and help the team problem-solve on the fly
- Ensure all documentation is complete and quality standards are locked in

**WHAT YOU BRING TO RIGHTEOUS**
- 3-5+ years in food production or manufacturing, including team leadership (supervisory or higher)
- Experience leading scheduling, staffing, and daily operations in a hands-on production environment
- Strong coaching skills and a leadership style that brings out the best in people
- Analytical mindset—you’re comfortable using data to guide decisions and improve processes
- Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and working in regulated environments
- Confidence moving between the floor and admin work, staying connected to the whole picture
- Experience with training, onboarding, SOPs, and building a team that’s cross-trained and capable
- Bonus points if you’ve worked with DEAR, Lean/Six Sigma principles, or in dairy/frozen CPG environments
- Clear communication skills and a calm, problem-solving mindset
- Positive energy, attention to detail, and pride in your work
- Great vibes and a love for people - we’re enriching lives one tiny spoonful at a time, we just happen to do it by making gelato
