**Human Resources Generalist**
**Reporting to - Human Resources Manager**
**Job Duties Include**
- Arranging rental accommodations, transportation and required appointments for obtaining SINs and MSI for hired temporary foreign workers based on LMIA guidelines
- Preparing new hire paperwork, including offer letters and confidentiality agreements, and deliver new hire orientation packages
- Assisting with administering compensation and benefit plans
- Assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
- Conducting employee onboarding and help plan training & development
- Maintaining employee records and paperwork
- Providing support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Promoting HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
- Assisting in development and implementation of human resource policies
- Undertaking tasks around performance management
- Gathering and analyzing data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
- Organizing annual employee performance reviews and quarterly attendance reviews
- Undertaking special projects and additional tasks as required
- Being an ambassador for the company’s vision and values, via appropriate communications and integration into human resource programs as well as help create a positive work environment to support employees and the leadership team
- Responding to employee and leadership requests for information on a timely basis
- Providing human resource support and maintain human resource policies and best practices company wide
**Qualifications**
- Community College Diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration
- 1 year of human resources or administration experience in a fast-paced environment considered an asset
- Knowledge of provincial and federal foreign worker programs, specifically Labour Market Impact Assessment unskilled worker stream
- Solid computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Superior organizational skills, as well as attention to detail
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to positively communicate with people at all levels of the organization
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, organize work and manage time effectively to accomplish objectives in accordance with organization expectations
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia employment and legislation and Health & Safety laws
