**Position Summary**

The Internal Lands Project Manager will coordinate and manage day-to-day execution of internal lands projects and processes, focusing on referrals, departmental communications, and interdepartmental coordination. This role requires strong organizational skills, working knowledge of environmental and cultural resource management, and the ability to translate technical project requirements into clear action plans. The Internal Lands Project Manager will work closely with Lands staff, consultants, and other departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with Nation priorities.

This position reports directly to the Director of Lands and will work collaboratively with the External Lands Project Manager on projects where responsibilities overlap or require shared coordination.

**Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities**

**Project Coordination and Management**:

- Manage the execution of internal lands projects, including referrals, additions to reserve, archeology/environmental plans, and related energy and land use processes.
- Develop work plans, timelines, and schedules to keep projects on track.
- Track commitments, deliverables, and project milestones to ensure accountability.- Coordinate with consultants, technical specialists, and internal staff to gather and integrate required input.
- Ensure compliance with Nation policies, procedures, and environmental standards.
- Present updates to Chief and Council as well as Community when needed.

**Technical Review and Process Management**:

- Review project proposals and provide recommendations to the Chief and Council.Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Policy and Procedures (SOPs) for internal processes, including referral handling and documentation.- In partnership with the Communications Officer, continually develop list of standard products, conditions or “rationales” for projects
- Track and monitor conditions and requirements on issued referrals.
- Keep projects moving forward and prioritized based on feedback from Chief and Council and Community

**Reporting, Briefings, and Presentations**:

- Prepare meeting notes, Council briefings, and regular progress updates.Create presentations to clearly communicate project goals, updates, and outcomes for Council, community, and other stakeholders.
- Support quality control of deliverables, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Nation standards.

**Stakeholder Coordination and Community Engagement**:

- Serve as a key point of contact for internal project communications.Schedule and prepare meetings with proponents, regulators, and other stakeholders.Develop strategies and identify next steps for community engagement related to internal projects.Coordinate with the Referrals Coordinator and other Nation departments to ensure timely responses to land use inquiries.
- Facilitate small-scale community information sharing sessions as required.

**Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate records of project activities, communications, and decisions.Prepare clear project updates for the Director to include in Council highlight reports.
- Draft summary reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

**Capacity Building and Support**:

- Assist with the development of tools, templates, and checklists to improve internal project workflows.
- Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Host informal information sessions for staff and community members on projects, skills and technology.

**Performance Metrics**:

- Timely completion of projects within scope and budget.Accuracy and completeness of project documentation.Stakeholder satisfaction and timely response rates.
- Compliance with referral timelines and conditions.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or degree in Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Project Management, or a related field.2-4 years of project coordination or project management experience, preferably in a lands, environmental, or Indigenous governance context.Knowledge of referral processes and environmental assessment principles is an asset.Strong organiza
